Madison is obsessed with Toy Story. I mean OBSESSED!! She carries Jessie, Woody, Buzz everywhere she goes!! It has been this way for at least 4 months. So at Christmas, Santa added many new toys to her Toy Story addiction! Maddycakes has a custom snowman dinner birthday party next Friday then the family is off to Disney World for a few days!! I just love these bandanna skirts. Click here for the tutorial.

Last Minute Easy New Year's Eve Decor

I just love this easy and quick decor idea for New Year's Eve from Fiskars. I'm not a big fan of going out on NYE. I just don't like the mass crowds and the crazy prices for the night. So I like to stay home and celebrate with my family. So sorry for the lack of posts on NYE ideas for parties. I am doing a family game night so Wii for me and a brunch on New Year's Day. Tell me what you do on NYE??
I've changed my mind on what I am doing for the 12th day Christmas giveaway...it is cool (if I have to say so myself) so stay tuned... will announce on January 1st!

I don't care if everything isn't in place!! So since it's a sugar fest with all of the cookies, I provide a few savory snacks to balance it. Here is the savory buffet. Simple-no fuss! Here is a picture of the gingerbread martini minus the martini part!
I hung personalized ornament cookies from a red tinsel tree...kind of hard to see the tree. Even though it's a no fuss party you still have to display your cookies with flair, right?

12 Days of Christmas~9th Day of Christmas

On the 9th day of Christmas Maddycakes gave to me a digital video camera. It is a Sylvania DV-2100. Takes still photos as well as video. Let me tell you the real deal with this camera. I bought two of them a while back~ one for me and one for a gift. The camera is super easy to use but the picture quality was not what I had expected. So you are asking why am I giving it away? I still use mine and it works great outdoors but not in poor lighting situations. It is small and easy to tote around and use. Madison loves my IPhone and is always using my video on it. I don't mind her using this instead of my IPhone! It is great when we go on our outings and she can document things that she is seeing. I love viewing how she sees things. I especially love her narrations. So maybe you want it to use with your kiddos?? Leave me a comment to enter to win. Remember you must be a follower to win.
The winner of the Godiva chocolate is SJA. Please email me your address to contact@gmail.com.
3 more days until Christmas!!

12 Days of Christmas ~ 6th Day of Christmas

Sorry for the delayed post today....I had my cookie exchange party last night (hung out quite late!)

On the 6th day of Christmas Maddycakes gave to me, a gift from Kylie Michelle. Maddycakes had to have full time help and found the perfect fit with Kylie Michelle. She is wonderful and Maddycakes is blessed to have her. Kylie has an Etsy shop Royal Bowtique and I have been buying so many cute things for Maddy. I never was the type of mom to put a lot of bows/headbands in Maddy's hair~ but now I'm addicted. Maddy looks so adorable~now I regret not doing it while she was a baby! She was called a boy for over a year ~a cute big flower headband could have cured that!
So in honor of my new chica, go to her ETSY shop and leave a comment on what you would like to have. Can you believe Christmas is a week away!! YIKES!
The winner of the custom cookies is mom22. Congrats and Enjoy...I know you will! Just email me your theme and when you need them to contact@maddycakes.com.

On the first day of Christmas Maddycakes gave to me, a large bag of Christmas Crunch. I hope you sang the sentence. I tried my best to make it fit the song! :)
I got the 12 days of Christmas giveaway idea from my gourmet popcorn vendor Poppa Maize. So of course they had to be my first giveaway. I LOVE their popcorn!!! They have AMAZING flavors (some I would never have thought of in a million years!) I use popcorn for so many parties and just for me and Maddy to eat!! Maddycakes does complete popcorn buffets at parties and with Poppa Maize having so many flavors and colors to choose from, they make my life so easy! Plus they are just the most wonderful people!
The Christmas Crunch is a mixture of white chocolate, peppermint, dried cranberries and pistachios (retail value ~$15). Delicious! In case you are trying to color coordinate it for an upcoming get together- the color is actually more like the color of the Strawberries-n-Cream pictured on the left.

Bling Tree

I'm super busy but wanted to show you what I'm up to. I really like using manzanita branches with decor. You can buy them in craft stores and online. Remember my cotton candy tree? The bling tree can easily be made by spray painting the branches silver and hot glue on strings of beads. You can find tons of cool things to glue onto branches right now utilizing the Christmas sales!! The pot is just covered with a white feather boa. Looks expensive, right?? Lighting makes it look really cool. This would not only work for swanky holiday parties but also New Year's Eve and any type of glamour party...don't you think?

The little things

I worked so hard today. Today was one of those nonstop days! I don't know about you but many times as a party planner I don't take photos of my events. I hate when it happens but sometimes I literally work up to the second of guests arriving and once they arrive .... too late. Today was one of those times. As I was cleaning and packing up I snapped this shot of my holly sugar cubes. I love details and the little things in life mean the most to me. It's a must for all of my little girl tea parties to have themed decorated sugar cubes. The little girls love it....I find that big people like it too! :) Give it a try next time you have your peeps over for coffee or tea.

DIY Sequin Trees

So maybe you have seen these fancy dancy sequin trees in the stores??? Well, I did, but was not willing to pay the price tag so what's a crafty girl to do...make it for much less! Sorry no step by step tutorial. (Remember I have 3 parties this week) However, wanted to share my masterpiece! You can get the sequins by the yard at your fabric store. I'm a traditional girl so I chose red and green. Here is a close up picture.
Can you guess what was used for the frame? Yep, a tomato plant cage. Dinner party is tomorrow....(Wednesday) oh...it's 12:50 am so the dinner party is today! I will post pictures tonight! Many blessings my peeps!

Let It Snow

Every since I saw this tablescape from Jamee of Setting the Mood~ I wanted to do a snowman theme. I lived on the East Coast almost my entire life so snow was just a part of winter. Now living in Phoenix it's weird to have 75 degree weather today and talk to my friends who are back East who are shoveling snow. I know you've seen Jamee's snowman table but just in case you haven't check it out here.
I finally have a snowman theme party on the calendar for January. So thought I would share some more snowman party theme goodies.

Tutorial for snowman marshmallow pops .....you know I love marshmallow pops!

Cute and easy snowman cake pops.

I may be able to do this cake??

I LOVE this eggnog display idea from BH&G.

Maybe this is where Jamee got her idea from on her tablescape...BH&G? I have 3 parties this week. Yikes...I'm exhausted just thinking about all the things I have to do for them!

Maddycakes on Sonoran Living

I was on Sonoran Living today. If you live here in Phoenix than you know what a big deal this was for Maddycakes. We were on to help promote Glendale Glitters Gingerbread Nights coming up this weekend. I was asked to do a mini dessert display and have a couple of kids to decorating gingerbread houses. Maddycakes is having a Gingerbread House making party this weekend so was very excited for this opportunity! Of course Madison was one of my kids doing the crafts. I brought more than needed because you never know what circumstances you may have for setting up. I didn't have much space but I think it turn out good.
Aren't these cake pops awesome!! I love the Santa hats! Remember these candy cane food label holders I made last year? If not, check it out here! Can you see those Christmas glass milk containers that are in the Radio Flyer wagon? A great Goodwill find!

Check these cookies out....hello Dollar Tree! I used regular plastic containers and glued polka dot fabric to match the boxes.

So as usual ~forgot to get a pic of me on set or even Madison but here is the set and preparations.
The Joy is just spray painted cardboard letters you can get from any craft store. My blog schedule may be off a little this month like it's been the past week. I have a extremely busy holiday schedule but keep checking back. I will try to post every day just at different times than normal. Thanks my peeps! I have tons of events this month so can't wait to share.
