I didn't know how I could help then on Wednesday it hit me that at least I could help with her son's rescheduled birthday party. He wanted a race car theme. I had 2 parties this week so didn't have a lot of time for preparations so wanted to show my peeps how you can still have a nice coordinated party without a lot of time and money. The party is tomorrow (Sunday~ I post at night when Maddy goes to bed) so I will have a complete breakdown of everything tomorrow but wanted to share a couple of things.
I made a "race track" using a black plastic tablecloth roll. Got the roll from Party City for $14.99 for a 30 ft roll. I found the white duct tape at JoAnn's for $4.99. As you can see the kids could hardly wait to start racing down the track!! My daughter used an airplane???? What is that a sign of???
I took a Styrofoam block and spray painted it black then cut the white duck tape for the street lines. This is what I used to display my marshmallow pops. I love using marshmallow pops for kids parties. (1) They are so easy to make. (2) Kids love them. (3) They are inexpensive...downright cheap!I'm really sorry for the dark pictures ~ I will get better ones tomorrow but wanted to share these treats with you. You know I always say that I am not a pretty baker. I so wish that I could make beautiful culinary bake goods but honey, mine always look a hot mess! However, if I can do marshmallow pops than anybody can. I used the colors of the party~ blue, orange and red. I used Paper & Cake race car cupcake rounds as my tags.
